Beautiful impermanence.
Sorrowful impermanence. x

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS.

It has come to my attention that pretty much no one understands what a fucking amazing, badass show Princess Tutu is. What, you think just because it’s got a girly-ass name and a ballerina fighting for true love it can’t be fucking awesome?

Oh you are not prepared.

Imma give you a list of reasons why this show is amazing, starting with this video.

Watch it and may your life be forever changed.

I think at this point pretty much everyone has seen this video, but reblogging it just in case. It never gets old.

Forever reblogging this video.

Always reblog!

I dare anyone to find a more perfectly executed, series encompassing AMV than this one.

Princess Tutu/Symbionic Titan

Because Fakir and Lance are basically the same person.

i think the reason happy endings leave me feeling empty and sad endings leave me less than a husk is because i can only ship these two in a tragic star crossed way. I really like the idea of fakir slowly breaking under the stress of his own ~*internal angst*~ regarding ahiru and his desire to see her human again. being in dokis with a duck is hard! i especially like the idea of him succumbing to the same follies as drosselmeyer because without the creep-ass old dude book club to keep tabs on his fanfictions, and his only tether to morality being a duck, who is to stop him skewing things in his head?? who will stop him from writing a story that propagates an endless tragic cycle of death and rebirth where maybe he can get his smoochies on with his duck girlfriend except as the same species at some point?? instead of being stuck in one stagnant fairytale they could be stuck in an endless loop of stagnant fairytales

basically what i am saying here is why the fuck aren’t there like one thousand fics about fakir having shitty ethics and doing awful things out of love why

wait okay someone reblogged the last one and said they didn’t know whether to cry or laugh and i just wanted to say what if fakir and ahiru could be normal people who go to normal school and don’t have to save the world or be ducks??? and ahiru is just inherently bad at things duck or not so fakir has to do stuff like tell her to put a damn coat on before she diES and it’s precious. what if a bunch of kawaii as fuck moments of mundane domesticity that are achingly sad because fakir is always in tragic doki dokis with this total dipstick
and then he wakes up and she’s still a duck hAHAHA

mildmilotic:

A video of Anna Pavlova and her signature dance, The Dying Swan. I think it can be best summed up with this commentary:

This is the most emotional interpretation of the dying swan I have ever seen. Many dancers after Anna Pavlova added fluidity and beauty to this dance. Anna’s swan is actually a dying swan. Her dancing is gorgeous but there is some awkwardness in the movements because she is fighting back the grips of death, which is never pretty or perfect. Anna was never afraid to expose her heart on the stage. It seems like she is not dancing, she is actually living it emotionally.

Once you get into it, you can see how she really does look like a swan about to die. It’s heartbreakingly beautiful. Fans of Princess Tutu may also recognize this as what Rue was dancing while she was punished to waste away deep in The Raven’s stomach, with bare skeletons dancing all around her. It’s always fascinating to watch videos of ballet dancers performing in what would go on to later inspire the animation. A definite recommended watch.

passerbyboy:

dear everyone,

please watch princess tutu. i know that the title and the style and the fact that it’s mahou shoujo make it unappealing to some people because magical girl isn’t their thing or they think it’s going to be shallow or something but it’s actually really hardcore and gets pretty dark not to mention it’s a great story and by season two you’ll be crying and shouting at every episode

that’s all.

The memories this brings

I had to use the swan lake reference for the pose because I know nothing about ballet positions :P
